Homoly Design + Build traces its roots back to Bela (Bill) Homoly, an immigrant from Hungary who settled in Chicago in 1903. Bela, a “House Carpenter” as per the 1920 Census, passed down his carpentry skills to his four sons. The youngest, Ernie, a master craftsman, passed on his skills to his son Guy Homoly, who was raised learning the art of construction. Andrew Homoly, a fourth-generation carpenter, founded Homoly Design + Build in 1997 with assistance from his father, Guy Homoly. The company has since expanded and continues to grow. The next generation, including Mason Homoly, has assumed his place in the company.
