The founders of MOJO Built recognized a lack of qualified industry professionals who possess the ability and vision to design and build new homes, in harmony with, and complementary to, established neighborhoods. Today’s lifestyles require modern floorplans with today’s technology, while maintaining a design that fits within the neighborhood.

In response, Joe Woods and John Moffitt Jr. formed MOJO Built in 2011. Their mission is to maintain, preserve and prolong the architectural integrity of the home and neighborhood.

John Moffitt Jr., Leawood’s only 2nd-generation builder, grew up in the housing business. His father, John Sr., was the original developer/partner of Leawood with John Kroh. John received his B.S. from the University of Denver with a double major in real estate and construction management.

After school, John returned to KC to work side-by-side with his father and has since developed and built homes in numerous subdivisions in the area. John served as President of the local KC Home Builder’s Association (KCHBA), as well as the Chairman of the National Custom Homes Builders Committee and is currently a senior board member of both associations.

Joe Woods is an experienced real estate professional with specialties as both a buyer’s and listing agent. For the past 15+ years, Joe has been not only an agent but has been restoring and building homes inside the 435 loop. He has a thorough understanding and enthusiasm for the re-development of the area including Prairie Village, Olde Leawood, Fairway, Roeland Park, Mission, Mission Hills, and the Brookside and Waldo area. Joe received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and has been with John Moffitt & Associates since the beginning of his career.
