2022 Artisan Home Tour Raises Over $100,000 for JDRF
Posted on October 13, 2022
The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) is proud to announce the 2022 Artisan Home Tour, which was held three weekends in June (June 3-5, 10-12, and 17-19), raised $103,054 for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
The donation was raised through ticket sales, individual builder parties and tour sponsorships. The 2022 tour featured 11 unique homes built by some of Kansas City’s finest custom home builders.
“JDRF is honored to partner with the KCHBA on the Artisan Home Tour,” said Sherri Lozano, Executive Director of JDRF Kansas and Missouri Chapter. “At JDRF, we’re leading the fight against type 1 diabetes by funding research, advocating for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and providing a support network for people impacted by T1D. We are so grateful to all of the generous donors that bring us closer to a world without type 1 diabetes. Thank you to the KCHBA and the Artisan Home Tour!”
Leading up to the tour, the Artisan home builders were each paired with a JDRF youth ambassador. Together, they learned about the process of building a home as well as the challenges associated with having T1D. They posted videos and photos each time they met to show the progress of the home and to bring awareness to the need for a cure for T1D.
“We are so proud that this event supported JDRF,” said Scott Bickford, 2022 chair of the Artisan Home Tour and owner of R.S. Bickford and Company. “The builders had the good fortune to meet JDRF youth ambassadors and get acquainted with these amazing young people.”
Presented by Ferguson Enterprises, the Artisan Home Tour highlights the unique abilities, creativity and imagination that is achievable when building a custom home. Homes on the Artisan Tour are held to the highest standard using the finest materials and incorporating the kind of detail and character that you don’t find just anywhere.
